Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Fatores que interferem na manutenção da amamentação da mulher trabalhadora com vínculo empregatício formal(2018) Oliveira, Seilane Ouriques Chenk Polastro deIntroduction: Recent studies highlight issues of paid maternal work on breastfeeding, treating it as an aggravating factor for early weaning. Objective: To characterize the factors that interfere in the maintenance of breastfeeding of the working woman with a formal employment relationship. Method: Analytical observational quantitative research with 207 participants, in Florianópolis - Santa Catarina, through an online questionnaire. Analyzed through the Excel @ and Stata 13.0 programs, statistically tested by means, medians and standard deviations and Pearson's chi-square test. Results: Four categories emerged: breastfeeding workers, conceptions related to breastfeeding as a worker, consequences of maternal work interferences on breastfeeding and the influence of maternal work on breastfeeding. The second category was subdivided into 5 factors: individual, environmental, organizational, cultural and legal aspects. Discussion: Brazil stands out internationally for legislation and policies to support working women who breastfeed. However, maintaining breastfeeding does not yet meet recommended standards. Effective public / private strategies to support breastfeeding of working women will promote better breastfeeding rates in this population. Conclusion: Strengthening breastfeeding support technologies such as day care centers, the establishment of breastfeeding support rooms in companies and the expansion of maternity leave are relevant for the consolidation of policies to encourage breastfeeding in the country.
