A visão dos estudantes de Medicina da Unisul Pedra Branca acerca da interpretação moral do aborto induzido e variáveis associadas

OBJECTIVE: To get to know the students' view of the Medicine course at Unisul Campus Pedra Branca, in Palhoça - SC, on the moral interpretation of induced abortion and associated variables. METHOD: Observational study with cross-sectional design, carried out at the University of the South of Santa Catarina, in Palhoça - SC. Population of medical school students regularly enrolled, aged 18 years or over. Selfadministered questionnaire MOSAI was used. Data analyzed in the SPSS statistical program and presented in the form of simple and relative frequencies, average and standard deviation. Scores were scored and analyzed using multiple linear regression, with a significance level of p≤0.05. RESULTS: 456 participants, mean age 22.4 years, mostly female, single, religiously, Catholics and parents' education at a higher level. Six of the 324 women surveyed had an abortion. Conservative constructs scored lower than liberals. Main determinants were female gender and religiosity for conservative builders, religiousness and father's education at a higher level for liberal builders. CONCLUSION: Secular and rational opinions tending to liberalism. Religiosity even with a high index, without significant interference in the students' opinion in agreeing with the practice of induced abortion.
