Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Arquiteto como administrador de obras(2018) Vieira, Péricles LimaTHE ARCHITECT AS AN ADMINISTRATOR OF WORKS Abstract: What we have observed in the civil construction is still a little distant from a well orchestrated symphony. Although there is a score, and the musicians are present with their instruments, the importance of the presence of the architect in the work as regent of the works still remains to be understood. Because of the nature of his profession, it is he who has a holistic view of the building being erected, he is the professional who manages to close his eyes and walk mentally through the building, which has come out of his head. Unfortunately the owners still place more confidence in the masters of work and even masons to perform the function of coordinating the work. It is not uncommon for guidelines made by architects and engineers to be ignored in the work, to the detriment of the opinion of the master or masons. And it is also frequent that subsequent implications arise from this attitude, which will require the intervention of the architect correcting problems that were not foreseen to disregard his initial orientations. And that in addition will still cost more to the owner. Often owners and masters avoid calling the architect into the work, with fear of the observations that will be made, the mistakes he will possibly detect, and above all the design changes that are usually carried out by the professional's back. But we have to form the awareness that the architect is an ally, who works to make his building as perfect as possible, meeting all the requirements defined by the owner.
