Monografia Acesso aberto Análise comparativa dos sistemas construtivos alvenaria convencional e Light Steel Frame: um estudo de caso em residência unifamiliar(2017) Frasson, Karine Crozeta; Bitencourt, MarcosIn order to increase productivity, reduce losses and meet growing market demand, the construction industry is seeking new constructive methods to replace traditionally used methods. The Light Steel Framing- LSF system is one of the alternatives used and consists of a structure made up of steel profiles, cold galvanized, drywall, cement boards and OSB (Oriented Strand Board), among others. Although Brazil is one of the largest steel producers in the world and this constructive method is characterized as industrialized and offers several benefits compared to the conventionally used systems, it is still a system little used in Brazil. Thus, this study, through a bibliographical survey and a case study, aims to present the main differentials of the Light Steel Framing construction system in relation to the conventional masonry construction system in single-family dwellings. The results of the bibliographic survey showed that the LSF system is an industrialized system, and as such, it has a clean, dry, fast and sustainable construction, in addition to presenting low weight. In relation to the cost of the work the case study presented the LSF system as less advantageous when compared to conventional masonry. However, the term factor was lower for the LSF system, since this is an industrialized system that presents higher productivity. By making a relation between the results, and considering that the LSF is only 5% more expensive than the conventional system, it is concluded that the LSF has a greater viability of execution, because its deadlines are significantly reduced, compensating for the cost difference. Thereby, there are several constructive options that can be used, but due to the poorly trained workforce, one ends up opting for the use of reinforced concrete, to maintain an acceptable performance even without a high-quality control, besides presenting a better cost-benefit ratio when compared to proposed structures with other materials, such as steel and wood. The present research proposes to define which elements of a reinforced concrete structure can be better dimensioned with the changes of the characteristic resistance to the compression (fck), being able, therefore, to reduce the armature rates and to provide lower cost with the materials.Monografia Acesso fechado A opção do método construtivo Steel Frame em comparação à alvenaria convencional em uma unidade de ensino superior do sul catarinense: estudo de caso(2018) Ferreira, Artur Silvestre; Nunes, Willian PereiraThe increase in the search for new constructive technologies, in order to guarantee productivity, versatility, low cost and still guaranteeing sustainability is increasing. In Brazil, high rates of waste are recorded due to the use of the traditional method of construction with large-scale ceramic blocks, however, it has shown that the country is adept at new and more efficient construction technologies. The Steel Frame (SF), is an alternative that can meet the needs, as well as use as raw material the steel, resulting in a quick and clean construction. The use of this model is still considered irrelevant, due to a country considered one of the largest steel producers, exporting to several countries in the world. In this context, this work aims to systematize the information about the materials, techniques and detailed advantages used in the SF building model, also dismembered in Light Steel Frame (LSF), with emphasis on the construction of a higher education unit located in the south of the state of Santa Catarina. In this case study, each construction process is detailed, as well as the cost of each step, showing its viability. Through comparative analysis, based on wall closures and lining, it was possible to agree on the choice of the teaching unit, considering the regional need to have an academic center focused on agribusiness and justify the high investment employed in the SF model. Noting the financial return estimating its gross revenue through the number of enrollments made and enrollments expected for 2018.Monografia Acesso aberto A relevância do uso de estruturas de aço em obras habitacionais populares(2018) Schlichting, Willyan LimaThe use of the metallic structure as a constructive technology arose in the mid-eighteenth century, and in Brazil, its use began in the second half of the nineteenth century with cast iron, and has expanded to the present day with the use of steel. The use of an industrialized technology leads to gains in terms of time and quality, and has become an alternative to be considered for social housing projects. In this way, this work investigates the use of the steel structure in this type of building and presents some experiences that have occurred in the country, mainly in the metropolitan regions. The metallic structure can bring some advantages to this sector, such as the agility in building numerous housing units in the short term, and disadvantages, such as the cost issue. In order to increase the knowledge on the subject, a comparative case study of steel structure works was carried out, aiming to understand the understanding as well as its behavior and to present a critical analysis of this constructive system for specific use in housing projects. The results show that the knowledge of the physical properties and particularities of the steel is fundamental for the development of good projects, which can be realized through joint work between engineers and architect, expanding the range of steel use, designing countless constructive scenarios.
