Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Comparação entre os níveis de força-resistência abdominal de praticantes de treinamento funcional e treinamento tradicional, de uma academia do município de Gravatal, SC, Brasil.(2018) Marcos, Igor CorrêaThe abdominal muscles are of great importance for the harmonious work of the whole body, in this way it must be strengthened, so that it does not disturb the normal functioning of the human body. Several modalities of physical activity strengthen the muscles of the abdomen, among them we can mention functional training and traditional training. The objective of the present study was to compare the levels of abdominal strength and resistance of practitioners of functional training and traditional training (Bodybuilding), from an academy in the municipality of Gravatal-SC. The one-minute abdominal test of Pollock and Wilmore (1993) was applied to practitioners of functional training and traditional training, with a population of 124 students, receiving a suggested sample of 94 practitioners after a sample calculation with OPENEPI online version. The choice of the individuals was of convenience, with 23 of the students excluded because they did not meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, thus totaling 71 participants. These were divided into two groups, TF (Functional Training) and TT (Traditional Training). The variables were described as measures of central tendency and dispersion in the case of quantitative variables. Qualitative variables were described in absolute numbers and proportions. The data was collected and entered into the Microsoft Excel program (2016). After adequate data analysis, the value obtained by the TF group of abdominal repetitions per minute was 32.6 ± 7.2, while the TT group obtained 33 ± 8.7. Although the TT group obtained better results, when the number of repetitions of the two groups was compared, the difference between the groups was not significant (p> 0.05), in this way we can verify that for the studied sample there was no significant difference between the modalities , for the level of strength and abdominal resistance.
