Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Atenção plena e o estado de presença sob a perspectiva de estudantes de Naturologia(2018) Iwassaki, RafaelaMindfulness is a translation for the páli word Sati, which means, literally, “to remember”, and concerns the constant attitude of mantaining consciouness. Although there is some difficulty in systematizing this concept, there are already some variables associated to this phenomenon like oppeness, acceptance, awareness, attention, and novelty seeking. In this regard, the state of presence, in the light of mindfulness, has been pointed out as a central pillar of the Interaction’s Relantionship (IR). Thus, given the connection between mindfulness and presence, in the IR, the aim of this study was to research the level of mindfulness of Naturology students, and to compare it to the mindfulness level of students from other courses in the health area. It was also investigated the influence of body-mind practices, before the entrance in the Naturology graduation, at the individual level of mindfulness. The importance of developing mindfulness during the course, along with suggestions of ways to achieve it, were studied qualitatively. 117 naturology students, with ages between 18 and 61 years old (M=26,93; SD=8,36) responded virtual surveys, comprised of sociodemographic details, practice of mind-body activities, and a psychometric measure of mindfulness (MAP). Results highlighted the students' interest and appreciation on the subject, besides their acknowledgement of the major importance of mindfulness to Naturology. The exploitation of this potential through a curricular guideline that matches the students’ interests in the development of mindfulness arises as relevant topic.
