Entretanto,
According to research carried out by the IBGE in 2015, the total housing deficit found in Brazil is almost 6.5 million homes, or a serious social problem in a country where social inequality is increasingly evident. In order to minimize these frightening numbers, the Federal Government, through social programs such as the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program, has been seeking to facilitate access by low-income families to the dream of owning a home. However, despite the social benefit of this program, the works developed in it have been the target of intense criticism. According to a survey by the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), about 55% of the houses built in this program were reported with some type of pathology, some examples found are: depressions, cracks, infiltrations, leaks, settlements, etc. In view of this, this study is limited to identifying the pathological manifestations found in the popular housing project Minha Casa Minha Vida, located in the city of Nova Santa Rita - RS, as well as presenting technical solutions to minimize or even eliminate the problem caused. The objective of this work was to analyze in a case study the pathological manifestations caused due to cracking in the structural elements of several residences located in the city of Nova Santa Rita - Rio Grande do Sul, in order to provide options for solving the problem.
