Resumo
This research has originated from our involvement with the Extension Project “SIM Women: empowering women is to liberate them - integral education, art and work”, developed by the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) at the Female Prison in Tubarão/SC. During the workshops related to Languages, in which we participated as mediators, several texts were elaborated, such as personal reports, frames, narrative interviews, personal diaries and photos that register the meetings. All this material made us reflect on the senses that are worked in the midst of the restrictions promoted by the controlling environment of the prison system, mainly with regard to the (im)possibilities of expression. During the project we saw that people in a situation of deprivation of liberty need to adapt to the narrative of the prison system. Therefore, what can and cannot be said and/or done is established in a very incisive way, which led us to want to understand the functioning of this discourse found in the materials produced by the participants, which has become our object of research. In view of all the restrictions that were witnessed and all the limitations to which these women are subjected, we ask ourselves: in this place of speech, what voice is possible for a woman who is deprived of freedom and how does this process happen? Thus, the objective of this thesis is to investigate how it is possible to have the right to a voice in a situation of deprivation of freedom and what that voice is. In order to conduct the analysis and interpretation, the corpora of this research were analyzed based on the Pecheuxtian Discourse Analysis, as well as on some presumptions of contemporary political philosophy. This study directed us to the sense effects of a discursive functioning that is submitted to a system that, even allowing the execution of a project that is aimed at female empowerment, promotes disempowerment as an order for the management of these subjects and, therefore, of these voices.
