Resumo
O presente estudo insere-se na linha de pesquisa ¿Linguagem e Cultura¿, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Linguagem. Nossa proposta é analisar no romance ¿Noturno, 1894¿ ou paixões e guerra em Desterro, e a primeira aventura de Sherlock Holmes no Brasil, de Raimundo Caruso, as personagens femininas, avaliando os silêncios e o diálogo com momentos históricos presentes no enredo. Nossa motivação decorreu dos questionamentos sobre os tipos de mulheres presentes na obra e que vozes sociais receberiam representação por meio delas no enredo; como a ausência de falas das personagens femininas apreenderia a representação do imaginário e de momentos da história da mulher catarinense, e ainda que diálogos históricos estariam presentes na obra. Como objetivos específicos, procuramos identificar e comparar a caracterização das personagens; avaliar a atuação das personagens masculinas e femininas na trama; identificar as diversas vozes sociais e o contexto em que se inserem; de maneira mais concisa, apresentar o entrecruzamento entre história e ficção presentes em ¿Noturno, 1894¿. Entendemos que analisar a obra literária é sempre instigante, principalmente quando se focaliza uma obra que coloca em evidência silenciamentos presentes ao longo da História. Assim, salientamos a relevância de se investigar a referida obra, na medida em que coloca em cena representações das mulheres, mais especificamente, representações catarinenses silenciadas e momentos históricos da História de Santa Catarina, promovendo a interlocução Literatura e História. Esta pesquisa tem cunho qualitativo, desenhando-se como um estudo de caso. Como procedimentos, optamos pela análise macro e microscópica baseada nos pressupostos do professor Massaud Moisés, sempre articulados às concepções da Literatura Comparada, observando com jornais da época a possibilidade de se depreender a articulação entre Literatura e História. Em nosso estudo constatamos que as representações colocadas em cena simbolizam grupos historicamente silenciados e que a literatura muitas vezes apresenta, ao colocar a História como pano de fundo nas narrativas, fatos silenciados em evidência.
This study belongs in the framework of the Research and Culture Language Line of the Graduate Program in Language Sciences aims to analyze the novel ¿Night 1894¿or passions and war in the exile and the first adventure of Sherlock Holmes in Brazil by Raimundo Caruso, its silences and dialogue of the female characters are evaluated along with the existent historical moments in the plot, the absences of the female characters seizes the imagery representation of Santa Catarina history and its woman, and yet which historical dialogues would be in the work. The specific objectives seek to identify and compare the portraying characters, evaluate the female and male performances in the plot, identify the various embedded social voices and context in a more concise way, provide the intertwining between history and fiction found in the work of Night 1894. We understand that analyze the literary work is always exciting, especially when it focuses on a work that highlights silences present throughout history. Thus, we enhance the relevance of investigating such works, in that it puts into play representations of women, more specifically, about silenced Santa Catarina representations and its historical moments promoting a dialogue between Literature and History through Comparative Literature. This research is a qualitative one, being designed as a case study. As procedures, we chose the macro and microscopic analysis based on the Massaud Moisés assumptions always articulated to the Comparative Literature conceptions observing the newspapers of that time the possibility of inferring the relationship between literature and history. The macro analysis and microanalysis of each female character of the work, checking their entirety as are narrated the plot, time, space and the description of the character. In our study we noticed that by the representations put in scene represent groups historically silenced and that through the often features hushed literature in evidence to put history as background in the narratives.
