The objective is to understand in scientific literature the influence that maternal nutrition has on the child's food preferences. In the fetus, around 24 weeks of gestation, sensory structures capable of processing stimuli are developed. Through the food choices of pregnant and breastfeeding women, the innate rejection tastes (acid and bitter), characteristic of some foods, can bring part of the child's sensory environment, familiarizing them with them and consequently, reducing aversion to foods whose introduction in nutrition is intended throughout the first year of life. During breastfeeding, the choice of the type of food, its consistency and the moment in which it is introduced also affect the way in which the child accepts food.
