Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Prevalência de sintomas de Disbiose intestinal em estudantes do curso de Nutrição de uma universidade do sul de Santa Catarina(2018) Albino, Tais AndradeIntroduction: It is known of the importance of the intestine in human health and that the changes in the current diet, resulting from overwork and rush of day to day, can impair their functions, unbalancing the intestinal microbiota. The imbalance of intestinal microbiota, with consequent increase of pathogenic bacteria, is called intestinal dysbiosis. The main objective of the study was to describe the prevalence of symptoms of intestinal dysbiosis in students of the nutrition course of a University of southern Santa Catarina. Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study of quantitative character. Data collection occurred through part of the Metabolic screening questionnaire referring to the gastrointestinal tract and the Bristol scale. Results: A total of 124 students from the nutrition program participated in the study, where it can be observed that the risk for intestinal dysbiosis was present in only 31.5% of the research participants. A total of 124 students from the nutrition course participated in the research, where it can be observed that the risk for intestinal dysbiosis was present in only 31.5% of the research participants. The most cited symptom was swollen/with distended abdomen with 75.8% and the type of stool most cited was type three with 46.7%. Discussion: It was observed that most participants are within the standard considered for normality, in the results of the QRM and in the Bristol scale, which can be explained by the fact that the students present healthy eating habits. Conclusion: There was a low prevalence of symptoms of intestinal dysbiosis in students of the nutrition course. New studies and food and nutrition education are recommended for students and general population on the subject.
