Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Influência da ingestão prévia de carboidratos com alto e baixo índice glicêmico sobre o potencial aeróbico de corredores de rua(2017) Neves Junior, Wenceslau Fernandes dasCarbohydrates are molecules and the primary function is to provide energy. Among the formats, which are presented, such as the powder for the preparation of drinks are among the bestselling. Considering that carbohydrate supplements have been widely used among riders, this study aimed to evaluate the influence of previous ingestion of maltodextrin and isomaltulose on the blood glucose and aerobic potential of street runners. For this study, 12 healthy male subjects aged 22-38 years (27 ± 4.69), Body Mass Index (BMI) from 18.30 to 23.86 kg/m2 (21.46 ± 1, 76) and with fat percentage between 4.1 and 19.6% (8.4 ± 4.28). The participants (divided into two groups) previously ingested a carbohydrate solution with maltodextrin or isomaltulose on the first day and placebo on the second day. Their blood glucose levels were measured fasting after drinking and after exercise. The stress test used was that of Luc Léger, which consists of an aerobic protocol of easy execution with 21 stages and progressive difficulty. Although there were different changes in blood glucose for the three drinks ingested, no significant differences were observed for mean values of VO2max. It was concluded that the consumption of beverages with different types of carbohydrates (high and low glycemic index), 20 minutes before a cardiorespiratory teste, is not able to positively alter the aerobic potential of street runners.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Consumo de suplementos nutricionais nas academias da cidade de Braço do Norte(2017) Souza, Ivana RodriguesThe amount of people enrolled in fitness centers is increasing, as well as the use of nutritional supplements by physical exercise practitioners. According to the food and Agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO), about 30% of what is produced is later thrown away. In Brazil, food waste reaches 26 million tons per year. The main goal of this study was to evaluate food waste through food leftovers and the consumption of rests in one UAN. The data collection took place in the course of thirty consecutive days during the lunch period, which offers an average of 573 meals a day. A scale with a minimum capacity of 0.040g and a maximum of 30kg was used to quantify the amount of food produced for distribution, as well as the leftovers and rest intake. The average daily consumption per capita was of 227.24 grams, where it was observed an average rest intake of 7.63%, the equivalent to 47 grams per capita. The amount of soiled leftovers were on average 162gr per capita, with a percentage of 26.69%. The results showed that with the amount wasted in the month analysed it would be possible to feed 310 people, resulting in a cost for the unit of R$ 52,896.83. The results show the need for awareness actions among diners regarding the waste generated by the food leftovers, as well as periodic trainings with the team aiming at minimizing waste and daily monitoring of leftovers and rest ingestion, in order to reach the smallest possible values. Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Características sociodemográficas, clínicas e antropométricas de pacientes com câncer de mama(2018) Fabro, Mariane BoneliBreast cancer is considered a disease of endogenous and environmental causes, and the recognition of the characteristics of women with this disease is an essential measure in the optimization of multiprofessional actions, creating strategies directed at the different stages of treatment and disease. To verify that the labeling of diet chocolate bars is in accordance with the specific legislation in force and to ascertain how consumers understand the labels of foods. Methods: In this cross - sectional study, a data collection instrument was used to analyze compliance with legislation on the labeling of diet chocolates available for sale at 2 supermarkets in the city of Tubarão, Santa Catarina (SC) - Brazil. We also interviewed 100 adults to verify their understanding of diet and light foods, nutritional information, portion and home measure. The data were obtained from a semi-structured questionnaire, composed of 11 questions. Results: Of the 20 chocolates analyzed, 11 presented some inadequacy in relation to the items of Ordinance No. 29/98 and Resolution 359/03. Of the 100 interviewees, 71% used to read the nutritional labeling of foods, the search for healthy eating being the main motivation and caloric value the most evaluated information. Only 4% responded adequately to what is a diet food, 27% correctly answered what is a light food, and 25% knew what portion and home measure. Conclusions: The labels presented some irregularities in relation to the current legislation, therefore, it is necessary to carry out a greater supervision of the responsible bodies. Most consumers were in the habit of reading the labels of foods consumed, but they presented some confusion in the distinction between a diet and light food, portion and home measure. It is proposed to instrumentalize the consumer so that he himself can exercise vigilance over what he buys and consumes.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Donepezila previne inibição do metabolismo energético cerebral sem alterar parâmetros comportamentais em modelo animal de obesidade(2018) Farias, Bianca Xavier deObjective: Obesity is characterized by chronic inflammation of low grade. The cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway favors the reduction of the inflammatory response. In this the effect of the administration of donepezil on cerebral energy metabolism and behavioral parameters in obese mice was evaluated. Methods: 48 animals were paired in 4 groups: saline + normolipid diet; donepezil + normolipid diet; saline + hyperlipidic diet and donepezil + hyperlipidic diet. 5mg/kg/day orally of donepezil (a cholinergic pathway stimulant) or saline were given seven days before the beginning of the diet until completing 11 weeks of the experiment. Dietary intake and body weight were routinely measured. At the end of the experiment the animals were submitted to the SHIRPA behavioral test, soon after they were killed by decapitation, the open abdominal cavity and the mesenteric fat were removed, as well as the fractured brain and the hypothalamus removed for evaluation of the complexes I, II and IV of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Results: It can be observed that donepezil prevented weight gain and food consumption, as well as a tendency to prevent the accumulation of mesenteric fat in obese animals. There was no behavioral change in obese animals, nor did the influence of donepezil on these parameters. On the other hand, donepezil did not prevent inhibition of complex I activity, prevented the inhibition of complex II, and showed a tendency to prevent IV complex activity inhibited in obesity. Conclusions: With these results it can be concluded that the activation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway is promising for the alterations found in obesity.Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Perfil epidemiológico dos usuários adultos e idosos da estratégia saúde da família de grão pará, diagnosticados como hipertensos(2018) Carara, Bruna WarmlingIntroduction: Systemic arterial hypertension is a clinical condition in which a high blood pressure index is observed inside the vessels.
