Dissertação Acesso aberto A valorização do professor do ensino médio integrado à educação profissional: desafios e complexidades(2021) Benedet, GiovanaThe present study aims to comprehend the challenges and complexities existing for the proper valuation of the vocational high school teacher, with regard to professional qualification, career, salary and working conditions that permeate the teaching staff in the exercise of their labor practices, having as workplace the public state school of Santa Catarina. The data related to the teaching staff were extracted from the school census database with the aid of the SPSS software and compared with the current literature. The valuation of a vocational high school teacher was adopted as the main analysis criteria, taking into account the vocational high school educational polices. The following categories emerged in this context: Vocational high school teachers and their respective valuation. The analysis of the data collected with the aid of the SPSS points out the challenges and complexities related to initial and continuous professional qualification, career, salary and working conditions. Therefore, contributing to the discussion of definition of policies that lead to a proper valuation of the vocational high school teachers. Regarding the vocational high school teacher profile, with respect to their sex, this category is mostly constituted of women; with respect to the age group of the teaching staff working in this stage of the basic education, there is a prevalence in range of 41 to 50 years old. The majority of them possesses higher education degrees but does not have a bachelor in the curricular component that actually lectures; does not have an effective bond with the school unit, meaning that they are hired temporarily. It is noteworthy to mention that an expressive number of teachers work in more than one school and lectures to ten or more classes. Studies show that the social quality of the high school, vocational or not, along with the valuation of the teaching staff, depend on the regular public policies and legislation. In this scope, the implementation of the education's national plan goals and the creation of a education's national plan which takes into account the rules and procedures that ensure the proper valuation of the vocational high school teacher along with a basic education that provides a good quality standard to those benefited from it appears to be necessary.
