Dissertação Acesso aberto A educação de jovens e adultos: a motivação como fator de aprendizagem e inclusão social - um estudo de caso sobre os alunos do ensino fundamental no centro de educação de jovens e adultos de Tubarão(2003) Mattos, Maria Isabel Alves deThis work had for objective, to understand the reasons of the motivation as learning factor and social inclusion, among the students of the fundamental teaching (module) offered by the Center of Education of Youths and Adults - CEJA - of Shark. Like this, the motivation was constituted in the central objective of that study. He/she/you broke of the presupposition that: the one that can be learned can be affected for the motivation. It was intended, for that purpose, to identify the reasons of the escape of the regular teaching in own age; to identify the reasons / intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that take the students to seek CEJA to study the fundamental teaching; and to identify the reasons that can take students to abandon the course offered by CEJA. The experience of the researcher's work with Education of Youths and Adults, as Educational Advisor of CEJA of Shark, led to the research procedure. The application of interview route was used as form of complementing the resulting information of that experience, besides detecting the students' motivations to seek CEJA to study that teaching modality. The statistical data are used for the analysis of the several speeches, giving support for a qualitative discussion. The students, in beginning, were revealed fearful and insecure. Such behavior was understood by the researcher as manifestation of the possible feeling of low self-esteem, a pointed characteristic, also, for the researched teachers. The pedagogic practice in class room seems to constitute in a space of only voice. The teachers' sayings tune in the silence of the students' thoughtful and incommunicable voices. He/she/you is considered that this signals for the corroboration of the hypothesis that it still misses the school a logical plural language, it attempts to plural voices. Another important aspect is it that the student's search for the conclusion of the fundamental teaching elapses of pressures exercised by the work relationships, especially of the formal market, as belonging responsible for the return to the students to the studies. It is suggested, therefore, that the commitment with the Education of Youths and Adults, it should be permeated of intense human sense, that is respected and value the individual differences and at the same time, be guaranteed the development of methodologies and teaching strategies that consider the characteristics and the hard-working student's needs
