Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Influência das mídias sociais na insatisfação da imagem corporal dos acadêmicos de Educação Física de Tubarão(2019) Ribeiro, Tatiana SteinhausThe present study conducted in the city of Tubarão / SC aimed to identify the influence of social media on body image dissatisfaction of bachelor students of the Physical Education course, University of Southern Santa Catarina, Tubarão / SC campus, identifying beyond BMI, influence and prevalence of use of social media and length of stay connected to the internet. A quantitative study was conducted through the application of a questionnaire prepared by the researchers and adapted from the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), with 158 bachelor students, over 18 years old, belonging to all phases. Statistical significance for independent variables was expressed by prevalence ratios and their confidence intervals. Where results of p <0.05 were considered significant and prevalence ratios were used to measure the magnitude of exposure-related outcome occurrence. The difference between means was verified by Student's t test. From the sample, 86 questionnaires were validated, 60 individuals representing 69.7% (n = 60) were male, and the other 30.2% (n = 26) were female, with a mean age of 21.8 years (SD = 4.5) and mean BMI of 23.7 kg / m² (SD = 3.03), in addition to a low dissatisfaction score of 1.87 (SD = 0.76) presented in 87.7% (n = 72) considered satisfied or slightly uncomfortable with their body image, with values totaling 80 or less points in the BSQ. It was also observed that 44.2% (n = 38) spent more than 5 hours connected to the internet, and still 55.8% (n = 48) use Instagram as their main social media.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Nível de Atividade Física entre Acadêmicos de Psicologia e Educação Física(2020) Martins, Gabriel TrindadePhysical exercise helps in the physical and mental development of the human being. Graduates in Physical Education, together with Psychology students, must show responsibility for a healthier lifestyle and the practice of good eating habits. This study aims to verify the level of physical activity among students of the Physical Education Bachelor and Psychology courses at the University of the South of Santa Catarina in Tubarão. Sample comprised of 333 students, 158 from the Physical Education course and 175 from the Psychology course. The level of physical activity was determined by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ long version. The results show that the average time of Physical Education students spent on physical activities including walking, assessed by the IPAQ was 177.89 minutes per day. Psychology students spent 105.09 minutes on physical activities per day. The two groups are similar in terms of physical activity levels, with no significant differences between them and were considered active. The results are satisfactory, as one course is in the health area, and the other, despite not being in the health area, understands that physical exercise stimulates people's physical and mental well-being, so they recommend the practice knowing the benefits that it can bring to people.
