Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Abordagem Odontologica em pacientes com transtorno do espectro autista- TEA(2020) Ceron, Carolina Dal BóAutistic Spectrum Disorder is a neuropsychiatric disorder that develops in early childhood and is part of a group of psychiatric conditions called Invasive Developmental Disorders. Over the years, the concept of autism has been increasingly disseminated in search of solutions to help these patients. In the dental field, professionals are being qualified to provide safe care, ensuring positive results. The dental management of these patients is complex and requires an appropriate interaction between the patient and the dentist. As these are patients who require specialized follow-up and follow-up, adequate training of professionals is essential. Thus, this study aimed to discuss the importance of early intervention and facilitating methods in the dental care of patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. A literature review of scientific articles published in virtual databases was carried out, such as SciELO and Google Scholar. It can be concluded that since Autism Spectrum Disorder has been present since birth, it is of great importance that the first contact with the dentist occurs as soon as possible, so that the insertion of this professional in the patient's routine is more peaceful and before the habits and behaviors characteristic of the disease take hold. Among the facilitating methods for the dental care of these patients are TEACCH, ABA, PECS, tell-show-do and positive reinforcement. All methods are intended to remove unwanted behaviors, encourage the performance of tasks and improve communication between the patient with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and the others. PECS is considered the easiest to be applied, as it was developed for a variety of environments, being easy to apply and without requiring expensive materials.Artigo Científico Acesso aberto Ação de bebidas energéticas sobre o esmalte dental - revisão de literatura(2017) Santos, Tuany ScarduelliDental enamel is the most mineralized tissue of the human body, covers and protects the crown of the tooth, possessing approximately 96% of the mineral content, the rest being water and organic compounds. The increasing consumption of food and beverages, as well as its effect of damaging dental structures, has been attracting great interest in contemporary dentistry. The dissolution of the enamel can cause two types of lesions, a caries and dental erosion. A dental erosion and a progressive localized pathological process leading to the loss of hard dental tissue, which is chemically removed from the tooth surface per animal and / or chelation without bacterial involvement. The most important extrinsic source of acid exposure is diet, becoming fundamental or knowledge of potentially erosive agents. For some years now, as energy drinks have been consumed by a large part of the population, by athletes and also by young people at parties. The objective of this work was to review a literature on the action of energetic beverages on dental enamel, its pH and its erosive potential. There is great concern on the part of dental surgeons with the consumption of alcoholic beverages, mostly acid pH, between 2.1 and 3.2, causing dental erosion. Research has shown that despite the lack of development of several formulations to combat a loss or increase the resistance of the dental structure to the acid challenge, there is mineral loss (Ca and P) in all mirrors of all groups studied. It is concluded, therefore, as energy drinks, capacity to promote mineral losses, consequently, dental erosion, due to the low pH. The possible deleterious action of these beverages on dental surfaces requires the dental surgeon to act preventively, alerting his patients about the unwanted effects that can be occasioned by their frequent consumption. Artigo Científico Acesso embargado Alteração do PH de diferentes adesivos odontológicos 30 e 60 dias depois de polimerizados(2018) Vermudt, AlefModern restorative dentistry basically based on the use of an adhesive system and subsequently a composite resin. The importance of knowledge of the properties and compositions of these systems and its clinical application, is of one of the most important characteristic for clinical longevity of composite resin restorations. The simplification of these systems made them very acidic, which raises the hypothesis of restorative failure in the long term. The objective of this research was to evaluate the pH of different types of dental adhesives in different periods of time. Three 3M ESPE dental adhesives were tested with different presentations and the pH level was evaluated immediately, 30 and 60 days after their polymerization. The lowest changes in pH levels were recorded in the groups of the Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose control adhesive system. Statistically significant differences were detected between the following dental adhesives: Adper Single Bond 2 and Universal Single Bond (3M - ESPE) (p <0,05). Following the results, it can be concluded that the self-etch group of 1 step and 2 steps pre-etched had statistically significant alterations (p<0,05) in the value of pH 30 and 60 days after their polymerization. Keywords: Adhesive system. Acidity. Dentin.Monografia Acesso aberto Alterações do paladar de pacientes com câncer de mama submetidos a tratamento quimioterápico(2019) Valgas, MiriamBreast cancer is one of the major diseases that affect women worldwide due to early prevention and diagnosis programs their chances of cure have been increasing over the years among the various treatments used for this disease chemotherapy stands out as one of the main ones, but despite its benefits it causes several undesirable effects to the patients. It describes the various aspects that involve the areas of periodontics and orthodontics, relating the biological reactions of the periodontium to the placement of the fixed orthodontic appliance, its causes and consequences. This work contains some aspects of the inflammatory reactions of the periodontium during orthodontic movement in the presence of bacterial plaque. It is commented on the modifications in the oral microbiota during orthodontic treatment, also commented on how to do a correct periodontal monitoring during orthodontic treatment, this text shows the importance of the partnership of the periodontist and the orthodontist in the prevention of irreversible periodontal damage during treatment orthodontic.Monografia Acesso aberto Alterações periodontais em pacientes submetidos ao uso de aparelho ortodôntico fixo e alinhador removível: uma revisão de literatura(2020) Weber, Cinara Della GiustinaThe periodontium is the set of tissues interconnected by the gums, alveolar bone, cementum and periodontal ligament, forming a complex of biological and functional development. It is subject to morphological and functional changes due to the interaction with the environment. Considering that the oral cavity is exposed to the colonization of several microorganisms, the components of orthodontic devices can lead to the accumulation of dental biofilm, which can cause adverse changes in periodontal tissues. Thus, the present study aims to conduct a literature review on a periodontal condition of patients using the fixed orthodontic appliance and removable aligner, through books and scientific articles, related to the subject in question, found in the following databases: MEDLINE, PubMed and SciELO. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that treatment with removable aligners is associated with lower levels of biofilm, gingival inflammation and probing depth, as they seem to facilitate oral hygiene procedures and the maintenance of periodontal health. The fixed orthodontic appliances, in turn, were related to a greater accumulation of biofilm and to a more pathogenic microbiota. It is evident, then, the importance of correct oral hygiene during both cases to prevent damage and maintain the periodontium, ensuring the success of orthodontic treatment and the patient's health.Monografia Acesso embargado Amálgama dental, passado ou realidade?(2018) Rosa, Nathan ModolonAmalgam has been used as a restorative material in dentistry for a long time and has undergone over the years some modifications in its composition aiming at better in its clinical results. however, there is a great deal of discussion about the continuity of its use in clinical dental practice, due to the known toxicity of mercury, a material present in its composition. and despite the presence of some cons of this material, the use of amalgam nowadays still occurs because it has some advantageous characteristics. in this review of literature we will show a little of the characteristics of this material and especially how we should handle it and discard it due to the toxic material present in its composition, also discussing the feasibility of its use in the present day.Artigo Científico Acesso fechado Amelogênese imperfeita: revisão de literatura(2018) Saviatto, AlessandraAmelogenesis imperfecta is a rare and hereditary tooth enamel change. It is a poor enamel formation that is clinically characterized by the partial or total loss of the tissue, causing morphological alterations in the tooth structure, sensitivity, color change, and may also lead to the absence of interdental contacts, as well as gingival inflammation. The association with previous open bite and eventual occlusal disorder is common. The objective of this work was to review the literature on imperfect amelogenesis, types, clinical characteristics and treatment. It is concluded that it can present severe and complex frames, being the correct and precocious diagnosis essential for the adequate restorative and preventive treatment for each type and stage of this anomaly, being successful at the end of the treatment of choice.Monografia Acesso embargado Análise da estabilidade de cor das resinas compostas - revisão de literatura.(2020) Corrêa, Gabriela BittencourtPhotoactivated composite resins are the most widely used restorative materials and are in constant development due to the highly aesthetic requirement demanded by patients. Material and methods: the survey was a cross-sectional observational study. The material consisted of panoramic radiographs performed prior to orthodontic treatments, of men and women between 18 and 40 years of age. After 287 sample selection participants were divided into 2 groups according to the third lower molar: erupted and impacted. Linear and angular measurements were carried out regarding third molars in panoramic radiograph. The T independent test was used to compare the mean values obtained for each analyzed variable in relation to the eruption or dental impacting situation, a confidence interval of 95%. The Chi-Square test was used to evaluate the mean values of the measures assessed according to gender and their relation to the tooth situation. Results: All the parameters evaluated showed a statistically significant difference when comparing the two groups (p<0.05). The retromolar space in impacted teeth was significantly decreased in relation to erupted teeth. The angulation beta was higher in impacted teeth, with a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found between genre and tooth status. Only the alpha and beta angulations are not related with the genders. Conclusion: all the measurements performed on the panoramic radiographs have relationship with the eruption and impaction of the lower third molars. Reduced retromolar space influences on impaction, as well as lower alpha angulation and major beta angulation. The gender does not influence the situation of the lower third molars, however, with the exception of alpha and beta angulation, the parameters differ when compared to the female and male. Nowadays the most accepted treatment in young patients for this problem is Rapid Maxillary Expansion (RME). This procedure became possible by the development of devices such as Haas, Hyrax and McNamara. This study aimed to describe the history and the mechanism of Haas, Hyrax and McNamara expanders, their indications and to clarify possible differences and results between these devices. Searches in databases such PubMed, LILACS, Web of Science, Science Direct, Scopus were performed. Searches in Gray literature (Google Scholar and Open Gray) were included either. Studies were selected in Portuguese, English and Spanish, without period restriction. The results showed that the RME was satisfactory in all presented devices, with greater orthopedic effects presented by Hyrax device. Deleterious effects tend to decrease in the retention phase and are modulated by growth pattern. It was found that there is potential to induce changes in microbiota and degree of mineralization, but with no clinical repercussion. ERM increased intranasal volume, which is advantageous since maxillary constriction may be associated with respiratory problems. Thus, it was concluded that the Hyrax appliance showed greater orthodontic effects. These differences may not influence the final clinical outcome, since all analyzed devices were efficient, with similar results, in the maxillary transverse expansion. Monografia Acesso embargado Aplicação terapêutica de células-tronco de dentes decíduos(2018) Aguiar, Fernanda BitencourtThe replacement of conventional materials and treatments with truly biocompatible therapies with greater chances of achieving clinical success in Dentistry and Medicine has been the new proposal and a promising search among scientists in recent years. Stem cells are those capable of inducing tissue regeneration and are therefore potentially therapeutic. Like bone marrow and umbilical cords, dental pulp is one of the available sources of stem cells. These cells present multifunctional potential with great proliferative and regenerative capacity. The objective of this work was to review the literature on the therapeutic application of stem cells from pulp of deciduous teeth, considering the importance of the subject in clinical practice. Because they are collected from a disposable, non-vital tissue and still provide relatively easy access, pulp stem cells from primary teeth are an asset for safety testing and therapeutic viability. The medical field has shown the importance of stem cells in the treatment of diseases such as spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, liver diseases, kidney damage, alterations in the ocular retina among others. In the area of dentistry, research has been focused on therapies such as regeneration of dental tissues, oral as a whole and bone reconstruction. The vast growth of this area brings to dentists the challenge of seeking a better understanding and qualification in the area of regenerative therapy, in order to inform their patients and / or legal guardians about this source of stem cells, since the tissue of the teeth only available for a short period of time. However, further in vitro experiments and clinical studies are needed to confirm the therapeutic viability of stem cells obtained from these teeth.
